About
Revitalize Haiti is a web-based project launched following the January 12, 2010 earthquake in that nation. Since the earthquake countless people and organizations have begun contributing to humanitarian relief efforts by volunteering, making financial contributions, and donating basic necessities. The mission of Revitalize Haiti is to serve as a community portal for those involved in the recovery efforts. To accomplish this mission the project has three specific goals:
- To provide a centralized location for news, information, and links to important resources and organizations during the immediate aftermath and recovery work.
- To create an online community of people and organizations committed to long term revitalization work.
- To collaborate with local organizations and people in Haiti to create and sustain long-term projects once the immediate humanitarian relief work has ended.
Revitalize Haiti is staffed entirely by volunteers committed to Haiti's future. The project is coordinated by the Center for Technology, Education, and Culture (CENTEC), a nonprofit organization that addresses educational, health, and social inequities for under served children and youth in Africa and the Caribbean.
